Outline of Course Content

The Advanced Practitioner Training goes beyond technique—equipping you to read subtle communication cues, unravel deep-seated patterns, and shape transformative interventions with speed and elegance.

Systems Theory & Session Architecture

  • Understand the rationale behind the IEMT structure to design purposeful, flowing sessions.
  • Orchestrate emotional states through strategic pacing, framing, and therapeutic structure.

“That’s Great!” Reframing & State Chaining

  • Ethical reframing using the “That’s great!” paradox: content vs. contextual reframes.
  • State chaining to guide clients from problem states into resourceful states through narrative and timing.

The Three Pillars Method: Metaphor & Story

  • Work with time-orientation and the dynamics of emotional states via the Three Pillars.
  • Use metaphor and storytelling for layered emotional fractionation and creative state shifts.

The 15 Trauma Kinaesthetic Positions

  • Navigate the 15 positional perspectives of traumatic memory (PTSD work) safely and effectively.
  • Address early trigger states and apply clear ethical safeguards.

Visual Fields, Octants & Sensory Mapping

  • Map visual/kinaesthetic correlates of emotional experience using the Octants model.
  • Apply tactile and spatial prompts to shift sensory states with precision.

The “What If…” Chronicity Pattern

  • Surface and interrupt recurring negative predictions and life-failure beliefs.
  • Install alternative trajectories that reduce rumination and future-focused anxiety.

Game & Systems Theory

  • Recognise zero-sum vs. non-zero-sum emotional dynamics in clients’ “games.”
  • Use open/closed systems thinking to enrich case formulation and intervention logic.

Advanced Identity & Phobia Work

  • Refine decision trees for complex presentations (e.g., cPTSD, narcissistic abuse).
  • Pinpoint and deconstruct phobic triggers using field mapping and sensory re-anchoring.
